      Satellite broadcaster BSkyB (
Sky Broadband) is reported to have entered into exclusive acquisition talks with
Tiscali UK after Vodafone pulled out. The deal would give Sky approximately 3.6m broadband subscribers, placing them just below
Virgin Media (
Top 10 By Subscriber Size), and is estimated to be worth in the region of £450m.
This is certainly a far cry from the dizzying heights of £1.26bn offered by Vodafone over the summer, although that did include both
Tiscali's UK and Italian divisions. Sadly little else is known at this stage, although many would welcome the additional investment that Sky could bring. More @
