UK ISP Be Broadband (O2) is offering new customers a free broadband service until the end of December with no connection fee to pay. The time limited offer will only be available until 14th December 2008, after that its services will return to normal.

The provider has also commented on the current Wikipedia blocking fiasco that, through use of the Internet Watch Foundation's (IWF) block list, has prevented untold numbers of UK Internet users from altering Wiki content (original news):


ISPreview also understands from some of the others ISPs involved that some degree of frustration has been directed towards the IWF. The situation would perhaps be less controversial had the IWF not decided unilaterally what is and isn’t illegal, even though officially the images in question remain legal and available in the UK.
