CinemaNow, a popular legal movie download service, has partnered with Winbox to allow the delivery of movie content over broadband directly to UK televisions via OEM set-top boxes built on Winbox's technology platform:
"Establishing Winbox as our first partner in Europe is a great step forward in our strategy towards expanding our services to consumers and retailers outside the U.S.," said David Cook, president and COO of CinemaNow. "With Winbox's innovative solutions, we can extend the premium online experience to the TV, further delivering on the CinemaNow mission to empower consumers to enjoy digital entertainment anytime and anywhere."
No further details about the Internet TV (IPTV) service and pricing have been revealed. The first set-top boxes to include CinemaNow's content will be aimed at the UK, with products for the rest of Europe appearing in retail later this year.
