On-Communications, a UK Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) provider, has announced that it will introduce the first
WiMAX broadband wireless service in Oxford to provide increased capacity and availability to businesses and learning institutions in the city.
The FWA ISP also pledges to save customers in Oxford money over traditional services (such as SDSL, Leased Line, LES and Fibre) and will beat existing renewal or new connection quotes on like for like services:
Ian Roberts, Chief Executive Officer, On-Communications said:
Traditional last mile local loop connectivity is fraught with risks for the increasing numbers of organisations that rely on the internet. By exploiting the latest WiMAX technology, On-Communications avoids the cost and complexity in underground cables bringing many benefits to our customers including greater reliability, increased bandwidth and innovative new features. Our service is built for demanding applications and intensive usage, offering all the benefits of a dedicated leased line at a fraction of the cost plus the benefits of free extra bandwidth at peak times.
On-Communications offers business contract options of 1Mb, 2Mb, 4Mb, 6Mb, 8Mb and 10Mbps all with guaranteed symmetrical bandwidth and the added flexibility of burst capacity.
