Sky (BSkyB) has released its latest quarterly results to the 31st March 2008, which revealed that the group had managed to increase its broadband subscriber base from 1,199,000 at the end of last year to an impressive 1,428,000 (+229,000) now:


The impressive growth is a reflection of how much effort Sky has put into improving its platform, thanks in part to a big investment (£127m) in residential broadband and telephony services. Despite the growth, overall operating profits for the nine months to March 31st fell 6.5% to £521m from £557m but churn was down to 10.5%. Sky is also believed to be one of those eyeing up Tiscali for a possible acquisition.
