Unconfirmed reports indicated that some UK ISPs have begun working with the music industry to make legal music downloads more accessible to their broadband customers. Details are sparse, although we wouldn't be surprised to see Internet providers offering special deals and discounts on tracks and albums to their users.
Part of the reason for doing this would be as a form of damage limitation for the impending imposition of stricter rules governing the downloading of illegal content. This was explained in more detail last week with our new article on the subject -
