Orange's parent company, France Telecom, has announced its audited financial results for 2007. Hidden deep within the groups slideshow presentation we found a bar chart showing that broadband subscribers had increased from 1,063,000 in 2006 to 1,138,000 at the end of 2007.
That's interesting because France Telecom's previous third quarter results (
here) indicated that it had achieved a broadband total of 1,142,000 after having added 52,000 new subscribers, which would represent a small decrease when compared with the latest figure.
Meanwhile
Orange hopes to pursue its UK
LLU strategy and "
optimize" the customer base, although we doubt they had a diminishing subscriber pool in mind. On the positive side, roughly 30% of
Orange UK's broadband subscribers are now on its unbundled lines, compared with 16% in 2006.
