NTL's Broadband Photo Service

Posted: 29th Jul, 2004 By: MarkJ
The UK's largest cable operator, NTL, has begun offering broadband customers with digital cameras a new service for storing photos online and receiving prints. The service is a free addition to the operators 'Broadband Plus' content service:

ntl unveils new digital photography service for broadband Internet users

With millions of people across the UK enjoying the high-speed benefits of a broadband Internet service and catching on to the incredible popularity of digital photography, the award winning PhotoBox service is set to launch on ntl Broadband Plus. The new service saves customers money and brings hours of fun for those owning a digital camera.

The combination of PhotoBox services and an ntl Broadband connection allows users to quickly and easily share digital images with friends and family around the world, store images online and even order prints at the click of a mouse. It’s so easy to use that you don’t need to be a budding David Bailey to appreciate its benefits.

ntl, the UK’s leading provider of broadband internet services, will launch PhotoBox to its Broadband Plus content service, at no extra cost to subscribers, from tomorrow.

This service normally costs £4.88 a month but ntl customers now receive it as part of their £3.99 a month ntl Broadband Plus subscription which includes access to other top music, family and gaming services.

ntl customers will be able to claim 15 free photo prints every month (standard UK postage and packaging is £1.50 per delivery), plus 200 Mb of online photo album storage – enough for as many as 1,000 high quality pictures to be stored online.

ntl customers will have access to PhotoBox’s award winning online photographic services - including photo prints, photo frames and personalised greeting cards and postcards. Subscribers can also create fun and exciting photo gifts including photo cushions, canvas prints on stretch frames, fashion & travel bags, key-rings, calendars, and coasters. These gifts make great presents for all the family and offer customers a real variety of personalised choices.

PhotoBox has also partnered with ntl for their interactive photography exhibition - Sometimes Words are too Slow - by providing high quality print outs for the evolving display within the gallery exhibition. This demonstrates the ease of ordering prints online and will encourage visitors to the gallery to do the same with their own pictures. More information can be found at www.ntlworld.com/photographyexhibition.

ntl’s Broadband Plus gives customers access to many of the best services on the internet for music, education and gaming. The partners available from Broadband Plus are; BBC Tweenies, Encyclopaedia Britannica, Napster, SonicSelector, VidZone, Espresso Education, Music Choice, Newsplayer, Video.tv, Freeloader, Frost.tv, Screenplayer, Pure World Cup and now PhotoBox.

All new broadband customers can enjoy Broadband Plus for one month completely free of charge. This gives customers the chance to appreciate all the great content and exclusive services on offer. At £3.99 per month Broadband Plus is great value: bought separately, the partner brands would potentially cost over £35 per month.
