The latest (2nd quarter) financial report from global ISP AOL has found that the provider lost 668,000 subscribers in the USA and a further 88,000 in Europe (total: 23.4m and 6.3m respectively):
According to AOL, the decline comes as the result of a decrease of 753,000 members in trial and retention programs, 'offset partly' by an 85,000 increase in billed subscribers.
The internet company said that its EBITDA earnings had risen by 13% during the second quarter on a 2% increase in revenues, while operating income rose 31%.Its unclear if any were lost from the groups UK division. More @
