The ex-founder of ISP Firstnet (now under the Pipex banner), Dominic Marrocco, appears to be gearing up for a return to the UK ISP market. Dominic has purchased Telco 186k, a major stake in ISP Onyx Internet, two other unnamed ISPs and one ASP provider!

Soon there will only be a handful of truly independent ISP's left, leaving the rest of the market to be made up of repetitive vISP's that offer little in the way of cost or service originality (these days it’s mostly just a different looking website). Oh joy.

It’s presently unclear what the move will mean for customers of Onyx and indeed the other two unnamed providers.
