ISP Freedom.net has signed a new three year £150,000 deal with BT Wholesale for use of the operators 'OfficeAnywhere' (OA) product. The managed service allows users remote access to shared e-mail and apps via broadband and remote connectivity over IP devices, such as PDAs:
The service will be available to Freecom's 7,000 SOHO/SME customers from late October 2004.
Midlands-based ISP Freecom.net selected the 'OfficeAnywhere' solution because the low cost, managed service provides a secure, scalable and robust Microsoft Exchange 2003 email service which can be offered to its customers either as stand alone product or as a value-add to an existing package. In addition, the 'Office Anywhere' product has a mobility gateway called Microsoft Mobile Information Server.
BT 'OfficeAnywhere' is a branded service provider offering which integrates e-commerce, email, shared workspace and personal storage on one platform, delivered securely via the internet. It removes the burden of managing email and provides customers with a predictable cost per user billing solution.
