UK ISP Freedom2Surf has today announced the launch of its SDSL (symmetric - same speed both ways) broadband service, which costs from £225 +vat per month for a 1Mbps line:

Freedom2Surf (www.freedom2surf.net), one of the UK's leading independent broadband ISPs, has today announced the launch of Freedom2Surf SDSL, a new service for businesses that offers multiple Internet users high performance connectivity across office networks.
At a fraction of the cost of Leased Lines, Freedom2Surf SDSL is available from only £225 per month for a 1Mbps bandwidth service, and from £292 per month for the 2Mbps service. Both packages have contention ratio options of 1:1 and 5:1, have a one-off activation fee of £499 + VAT, and a 12 month minimum contract.
Freedom2Surf SDSL - Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line - provides businesses with an "always-on" permanent connection, and equal download and upload speeds needed for business applications such as e-mail, file transfer, web hosting, corporate Intranet and remote LAN access.
Freedom2Surf SDSL is available to businesses located within proximity of over 300 enabled BT exchanges across the UK. Access to SDSL received a boost last week after BT Wholesale announced it plans to double the number of exchanges offering SDSL in the coming months.
