Business ISP Entanet has today reported seeing a surge in demand since BT extended the reach of broadband ADSL services earlier in the month:
Entanet, the leading supplier of business-to-business Internet solutions, has reported a surge in demand for broadband connections following the extension of distance limitations for ADSL by BT.
The previous limit of 6Km for 512K broadband connections has been removed and 1Mbit connections have been extended from 4Km to 6km. BT estimates that this has brought an additional one million businesses and homes within the reach of broadband connections.
Users in remote and rural areas that previously lay outside the distance limitations for connection have been contacting the company to take up the opportunity to install broadband. But many business and domestic users remain unaware of the potential and this presents a good opportunity for resellers says Marketing Executive, Matthew Barton.
We have already been flooded with requests from business and home users that were previously out of range but who can now connect to the 512K service, and many others that are taking advantage of the 1Mbit distance extension to upgrade their connection. But there are many more potential customers who will be unaware of the extension and have previously not entertained the idea of having broadband because they knew they were outside the required range resellers need to make these potential customers aware that they can now get broadband and that Entanet is the best provider for them.
Entanet works with a number of resellers all over the UK, offering a wide range of broadband and other connections designed to suit the needs of businesses of all sizes. The ADSL extensions are of particular significant to the SMEs says Barton. Most big businesses located outside the previous limits have installed leased lines, ISDN but these services have typically cost too much for small businesses to justify. Now, with low-cost broadband within the reach of just about everyone and BT continuing to enable exchanges right across the UK every SME in the country can start to benefit from broadband Internet connection.
