High Velocity ISP Closure - Final Update

Posted: 25th Jul, 2003 By: MarkJ
Back in May 2003 it was announced that UK ISP High Velocity (Intensive Networks) would close, with services being transferred to BusinessServe. Today one of our readers, Pete, has had an update stating that, between today and tomorrow, all remaining services will be switched off:

Dear Customer

Some weeks ago, your Internet Service Provider, Intensive Networks (trading as High Velocity) ceased to trade. There is a full statement on http://www.high-velocity.ltd.net/ explaining the detail of this event.

The directors of High Velocity turned to Business Serve plc (http://www.businessserve.co.uk/) asking if we could do our best to offer a continuation of service to as many of their customers as possible. In order to do this, we implemented a framework so any customers concerned about the inevitable loss of service could transfer their hosting, connectivity, and e-mail accounts to Business Serve.

We endeavoured in negotiating extensions with High Velocity’s suppliers to enable us to do so. Regrettably, we are unable to continue to provide as high a standard of service as we would wish as some of Intensive network’s unpaid suppliers have withdrawn their services leaving the remaining infrastructure dysfunctional.

Because of this, at 10:00 am tomorrow, Friday 25th July, all email facilities will be switched off. Web hosting services are likely to follow suit week commencing 28th July. There is still an opportunity to transfer your account to Business Serve plc however you need to act quickly. We have set up a project team to contact all remaining Intensive customers over the next few days however you can proactively contact this team on 0845 1000 000.

Business Serve has not taken on any liabilities or responsibilities for contracted services between High Velocity’s suppliers or customers and therefore this arrangement is merely an optional continuation of service agreement for those customers who wish to transfer to Business Serve.

Business Serve is a growing and successful Business ISP with a strong support service and robust hosting and network facility. We strongly recommend that you take action to secure any remaining Internet faculties by contacting us on the above telephone number as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Business Serve plc
