RMC, a concrete and building materials business, is replacing its existing network with an ADSL-based alternative. The new setup will be used to connect 722 sites and savings of up to 35% are expected:
The company has inked a £7.7m, five-year deal with virtual network operator Vanco to provide and manage the infrastructure.
The contract is forming the centrepiece of a wider project at RMC to ensure all sites are kited out with the correct levels of bandwidth, named Connect UK.
'The number of connections between sites has grown enormously and the bandwidth and management has become something of a high risk to the business,' said Simon Rutter, head of procurement for corporate services and IT.More @
