The UK wing of pan-European ISP Tiscali has confirmed that its own servers were to blame for a recent e-mail outage:
"Email filters, which we use to protect customers in the event of a DOS attack, were inadvertently applied. This has now been fixed and the service status page updated. We apologise for any inconvenience customers may have experienced."
Indeed, confirmation that all's well is on Tiscali's status page. The entry for 11:46:52 Fri May 23 2003 reads: "lskdfj slkfj sfj sodifj sodifj siodfjso".It's good to see that Tiscali is as competent at keeping its status page up-to-date as it is at correctly billing customers. More @
