Having already signed up BTOpenzone, The Cloud has now officially announced the launch of its broadband wireless (Wi-Fi) Hotspot service:
The service will be free for the next six weeks, by which time The Cloud, a division of Inspired Broadcast Networks said it expects to bring more new sites online. It aims to bring Wi-Fi services to more than 1,000 new locations throughout England, Scotland and Wales, by the beginning of July, and 3,000 sites by the end of the year.
The Cloud has access to 30,000 public spaces where Inspired has connected entertainment machines. Inspired is the exclusive supplier of networked and wireless services to Leisure Link Group, Britain's largest operator of slot machines and jukeboxes in pubs.
It is basically building a wholesale network, which will be targeted at large branded service providers such as BT, Vodafone, O2 and Orange that want to provide wireless broadband data offerings under their own brand. The Cloud said its Wi-Fi access could be bundled with GPRS or 3G data services from mobile operators.More @
