BT Offers One Months Free ADSL Rental

Posted: 02nd Jul, 2003 By: MarkJ
UK ISP BTOpenworld and BTs BT 'No Frills' Broadband ADSL service have today announced several new promotions. Firstly, customers signing up with either BTO or BTB, from 1st July until 30th September 2003, will receive one month's free line rental:

BT CONTINUES TO DELIVER ON BROADBAND TARGETS

All new consumer customers signing up with BT Openworld and BT Broadband from July 2003 until September 30, 2003 will receive one month's free line rental. This is a saving of £29.99 with BT Openworld, and £28.00 with BT Broadband. (Order to be activated by October 31, 2003).

Business customers will also benefit from the promotion. BT Openworld broadband for business prices are to be slashed from July 1, 2003. The offers - which give SMEs the chance to save up to £260 on broadband installation and activation - will run until September 30, 2003. The company will also reduce charges on a range of its Business broadband products, offering SMEs a head start in the broadband world.

These offers are designed to demonstrate BT's commitment to Broadband Britain, as well helping the company move closer to its ambitious broadband targets. In 2002, chief executive, Ben Verwaayen set targets of 1 million ADSL connections in 2003 and 5 million in 2006.

BT Openworld also recently announced an alliance with Yahoo! to continue this push, in order to deliver a completely new internet experience which is optimised for the use of high-speed internet connections.

Pierre Danon, chief executive of BT Retail, said: "Now that there are 1 million broadband customers using BT ADSL, we need to ensure that we keep the momentum going. Broadband is revolutionising the way that people use the net, both at home and at work, and our job is to make the service as compelling and as cost-effective an option as possible."

BT Broadband is BT's access product offering a one-stop shop service for broadband and telephony, with a wide range of optional services, and is charged through the BT blue bill. The BT Openworld product is BT's full ISP service, offering advanced e-mail, world class anti-spam and virus filters and access to a wide range of content, including film clips and music channels.
