UK Telecoms and ISP group Easynet has one a £1 million government contract extension to enable 200 schools with high-speed broadband Internet access come the end of March 2004:
The ISP has completed the first phase of the project, which involved connecting 100 schools in the North East to allow them to share infomation, access e-learning content and other educational resources. The new deal, worth £1m, will connect a further 200 schools.
The deal will also involve the pre-loading of educational websites onto the network, which can be accessed by staff and students.More @
