Little know 'Conference' Football Clubs, such as Burton Albion and Accrington Stanley, have formed their own broadband channel devoted to web casting match highlights, interviews and more:
Not exactly a David Real Madrid Beckham-calibre news story? Well, maybe not. But John Warrington, managing director of The Footballers Football Channel, exhibits infectious enthusiasm about the project nevertheless: Conference clubs are generally in a healthier state financially than many of their counterparts in the Football League, and with even more clubs making the decision to go full time and improving their facilities, the standard of play and level of attendances will continue to rise. During the last year, we have had the opportunity to talk to clubs in The Premier League about creating broadband channels with them, but without doubt, this is the one that excites us the most.
Starting at the beginning of the 2003/04 football season, TFFC will film each Conference League game for the purpose of creating a ten minute highlights version of each and every match to offer on a pay-per-view basis to fans across the world. The platform for the site is being provided by BT Openworld but because there are no international restrictions on the rights, subscribers to all ISPs will be able to access the channel.More @
