BTOpenworlds Leaky DSL Routers

UK ISP BTOpenworld has, apparently, been shipping an unreliable 'Efficient Networks 5861' router with its business ADSL services for sometime now. It's unreliable because the capacitors have an unwelcome tendency to leak:
But this router or some iterations of this router, are also suffering from the leaky caps phemomenon and the [BTOpenworld] user group told BT about it months ago, he said.
There's one example of leaky capacitors in this router over at this page, and a subscriber has a "workaround" he used to get the 5861 going again.
It's not yet clear how widespread this issue is, although it probably only affects a small number of subscribers, otherwise we'd have heard about it sooner. More @ The Inquirer.
