Southern Electric has gained 200 trail subscriptions (needs 1,000) for its broadband Powerline service in Winchester, which was formally announced at the end of April and is due to start in June:
At the end of the year the company will take stock of the trial and see whether it makes commercial sense to roll-out the service to other parts of the country.
The broadband service is expected to cost around £30 a month delivering speeds up to 1Mbps.The SE trials will complement those taking place further north under the banner of Scottish Hydro-Electric (see our interview for more info.). More @ the Register.
