THUS Responds To Unmetered Cut

Posted: 22nd Jul, 2003 By: MarkJ
The CEO of THUS Telecom, Bill Alan, has issued a short response to yesterday's news that Oftel would force BT to cut 17% off its unmetered dialup (FRIACO) charges:

"We welcome Oftel's intervention; this is further evidence that without tough and vigilant regulation, BT will simply hang on to efficiency savings and not allow the end user to benefit. While this latest price reduction does not directly affect the services that THUS offers, it is a welcome sign that the regulator is using its powers to enforce a more competitive environment.

We hope that Oftel reaches similarly favourable conclusions in resolving the related disputes that we have referred to them.
