UK ISP 4d Internet has announced the introduction of two new unmetered dialup ISDN packages for business customers, specifically those requiring always-on access:

4d Internet has recently launched two new ISDN packages designed for and aimed at businesses and high-end Internet users who require always on connections without the restriction of timeouts, maximum monthly usage limits, and contention ratios.

The two packages called Unlimited 64 and Unlimited 128 have 1:1 contention ratios, no cut-offs or idle timeouts, and no maximum monthly hours. These packages are totally unmetered and let stay connected 24 hours a day without having to redial or reconnect.

- Unlimited 64 supports 56k, v90, V92, and single channel (64k) ISDN.

- Unlimited 128 supports single channel (64k) and channel bonded (128k) ISDN.

This is good for those operating outside of a broadband enabled area, although the unsurprisingly high price tags of £129.99 and £249.99 per month (respectively) aren't too pleasing.

Sadly this is the economic reality of offering a 1:1 service based off BTs ISDN, which would require the ISP to rent one or two 64Kbps ports for a single customer. Don't forget that there's also the line rental to include.
