The governments eCommerce Minister, Stephen Timms, has apparently suggested that European Union (EU) countries do more to promote the use of Internet access among elderly people:
Addressing European ministers last week, Mr Timms outlined the need for countries to extend internet support programmes for senior citizens and encouraged other EU partners to adapt UK initiatives for their own regional and national programmes.
The Minister said, "This spring will see a major public awareness campaign to demonstrate how the internet can change people's daily lives for the better and encouraging people to visit their local UK online centre."More @
