DigitalSpy reports that
Telewest has outlined its plans to bring additional interactive services to its TV offerings by making effective use of broadband connections:
Gavin Patterson, managing director of the cable operator's consumer division, said: "These new services illustrate that watching television is no longer just a linear experience. Interactivity is now part of the whole package, which offers our customers more choice and an overall improved viewing experience. We expect further interactive enhancements to follow throughout the year."
The interactive service for Channel 4's Big Brother headlines the service; despite arriving a week into the nine-week event, multiple video streams, an information ticker and an eviction vote feature are now all available on the service.
A number of enhanced applications will be available for Wimbledon, Open Golf, the Proms and World Athletics - all of which are being screened on the BBC.
