Users of Sony's new broadband based multiplayer service for the PlayStation2 games console may like to know that BT has adapted its X-Box Speedtouch 530 router to work with the PS2:
The router comes with an in-built modem and is the same product it sells to Xbox Live customers, who have been buying about 500 of the devices each month since mid-March when Microsoft launched the service.
BT's Speedtouch 530 router connects the console to a modem via the PS2 network adapter, which hit the shelves less than two weeks ago in the UK for the first time, for £25.
Sold through its Openworld division, the product is not absolutely essential but will remove the need for the PS2 owner to configure a PC, which the console must be channelled through in the absense of a router, meaning that both PS2 and PC need to be switched on to play online.More @
