UK ISP BTOpenworld has teamed up with Allied Carpets to offer house-movers and renovators a free introductory CD to help them get online via broadband:

BT OPENWORLD ROLLS OUT BROADBAND FROM ALLIED CARPETS' STORES

BT Openworld has teamed up with Allied Carpets to help consumers get online. From July 1 this year, free introductory CDs for BT Openworld's internet services will be available in 30 flagship stores.

Aimed at house-movers and people renovating their home, the CDs contain a free demonstration of broadband, instructions and a link to the BT Openworld site to register for a full broadband service. This includes email, web space, anti virus and spam protection as well as rich media content all in one place. Once a customer has signed up to BT Openworld's broadband internet service and installed the necessary high-speed modem and filter box, they can enjoy the benefits of always-on internet connectivity.

Chris Jones, head of partnerships at BT Openworld, said: "Allied Carpets is one of the UK's biggest carpet chains and offers a fantastic range of consumer products and services. We are giving home movers the opportunity to get high-speed internet access through BT Openworld's services. We want to make internet access available to everyone across the UK as broadband really is the future of home entertainment."

Cameron March , Business Development Controller at Allied Carpets said: "People who move into new homes or redecorate their existing houses have to think about a range of new services and utilities. Getting broadband should be seen as an essential utility as it makes domestic living much more fun. With the service, people will do everything from paying gas bills to communicating with friends and family."

The activity was developed through the marketing communications agency Station. This is the latest deal in a range of high profile distribution partnerships for BT Openworld which already includes BP, Safeways and Toys R Us. BT Openworld's Plug & Go broadband service is priced at £29.99 month (inc. VAT).*

*All orders are subject to availability, survey and line testing. A 12 month minimum rental period applies from date of activation.
