Juniper Research believes that, by 2009, VoIP (Voice-over-IP) technology will help generate $47bn, largely boosted by broadband uptake:
That's on top of the $43bn predicted to be spent on broadband access.
Ian Cox, Broadband Specialist at Juniper, reckons that broadband penetration has now grown to a level where the industry "is on the verge of a revolution" since he believes it is now "economically attractive" to launch value-added services to a mass audience.The outcome from Juniper is clearly more upbeat than the predictions made by Analysys just two days ago.
