London based ISP, Exponential-e, has today launched a new symmetric (SDSL - same speed both ways) broadband service for businesses. Unlike some, Exponential-e's service comes with a 6 month contract instead of the usual 12:
Broadband Service Launched which does Not Tie Businesses into 12 month contracts
A London based company, Exponential-e, has today launched an SDSL business broadband service which is not only cheaper than the equivalent service offered by other providers but which also gives customers greater flexibility as the minimum contract period is only 6 months. Most other broadband providers tie customers into a 12 month contract.
The service, PowerDSL, is available nationwide and delivers a 512kbps, 1Mb or 2Mb connection, so is ideal for companies who transfer large files over the Internet, such as publishers, design agencies, new media companies and architects. But as new mainstream applications are launched, such as storage and video, Exponential-e believes that demand for SDSLs will increase in other market sectors.
The slowest connection, 512kbps, costs £160 a month, with 1Mb costing £175 and 2Mb costing £230 a month. There is also an initial set up cost of £950 which includes all the necessary hardware. PowerDSL is not just about offering businesses a cheaper service however. Companies are only required to commit to a 6 month contract, giving them the ability to move away, should they want or need to, with far less financial penalty.
Lee Wade, MD Exponential-e, commented: Being tied into a contract and having to pay for a service that you no longer want or need is incredibly frustrating. By reducing our minimum contract term to 6 months we are effectively halving the risk companies are taking. And thats without the actual costs savings of the service itself.
A SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) connection gives users the ability to upload and download data at the same speed. Exponential-e has already secured customers in central London, Manchester, Bristol and Kingston.
