Ironically the very thing that most marketing related SPAM is designed to promote, online shopping, may now be damaged by it:
Findings from the international () survey reveal that 52 per cent of consumers say they shop less online or not at all because of worries about spam.
More than four-fifths (83 per cent) said that 10 per cent or more of their daily emails are spam. Fourty-two per cent claim that more than half of the email they receive every week is spam, with 84 per cent wanting unsolicited emails to be banned.The survey was conducted by the Trans Atlantic Consumer Dialogue coalition; over 21,000 people from more than 36 countries were involved.
