Ofcom reports that broadband xDSL powered TV services, such as those offered by ISP HomeChoice, have seen subscriber losses between the third and fourth quarters of 2003:
Only 8,887 homes in the UK subscribe to DSL-powered TV services.
HomeChoice had 3,550 homes connected to its service by the end of the fourth quarter, down from 4,410 homes in the third quarter. This equates to a 2% penetration rate in its service area.DigitalSpy reports that a similar supplier, KiT, has been forced to confront the same problem. No reason for the losses can be given, although the rise in general consumer broadband services could be one.
