BTOpenworld (BT Yahoo!) has issued a security warning regarding the Netsky-b (Moodown-b) e-mail virus (worm), which is currently rampaging the Internet and has overtaken MyDoom's lead:
BT would like to warn its customers about a rapidly spreading new email virus.
Nesky-b or Moodown arrives in the form of an email with an attachment. On opening the attachment it runs a program that plunders address books for email addresses and uses an in-built mail program to send itself to new victims.
As ever we strongly advise our customers not to open suspicious emails and to keep their anti-virus software up to date. If you already have up to date anti-virus software in place it will pick these mails up for you.
Details of BT's email and PC protection software are available from http://www.btopenworld.com/safersurfing
BT takes the security of its customers very seriously and will do everything possible to ensure they have an excellent internet experience.
