The UK wing of pan-European ISP Tiscali has closed its customer news forum after receiving complaints that several users had posted allegedly racist remarks:
"These postings have been quarantined and are being examined so that we can decide if they should be moderated or deleted when the news forums resume," it said.
Industry group the Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) confirmed that it too had received complaints last week about some postings on Tiscali's forums and informed the ISP.It's expected to be another day or so before the forums can be re-opened; no doubt Tiscali would have been keen to avoid the past mistakes of other providers (Demon).
