Thanks to one of our readers (Mark) for pointing out the following article from the front page of his 'Fife & Kinross Extra' newspaper. It relates to BTs ADSL upgrade of six Fife exchanges, bringing broadband to 22,000 more homes and businesses:
The switch-on of lochgelly, Glenrothes South, Leven, Newmills, New Oakley and ballingry exchanges will extend broadband coverage to almost 80% of the homes in the Kingdom early next year.
BT Scotland will work closely with Scottish Enterprise Fife and Fife Council on the project, wiht the local organisations driving awareness campaigns that BT Scotland believes will justify the investment needed to accelerate the upgrades.
Bob Downes, director BT Scotland, said "This is great news for people in these six communities and it wouldn't be happening without the initiative of Scottish Enterprise Fife, Fife Council and and other organisations in the Kingdom."
