Hauka Creates 500 Jobs in Scotland
The UK private label technology company Hauka Corporation Plc has moved its sales & technical support staff from Manchester to Riverside Business Park in Irvine and created 500 new jobs along with it.
This move has been welcomed as high unemployment has been, and continues to be, a major issue for North Ayrshire. With thousands of staff recently made redundant at Fullarton Computer Industries, TT electronics, BAe Systems, Compaq & IBM; Hauka have stepped in at a time where unemployment is at its peak.
The 2 year old technology company is investing £34m in the next 6 months in its data centres with £17m going into the new centre in Irvine.
Charles Holland, Development Manager, said Hauka chose North Ayrshire as it enjoys a good communications infrastructure and there is excellent scope for improvement.
