Wanadoo Launch £17.99 Broadband

UK ISP Freeserve has started its primary re-branding (to Wanadoo) drive today by launching the previously rumoured £17.99 (2Gb) per month broadband ADSL service:

As Freeserve becomes Wanadoo, UK customers benefit from the UKs most competitive Broadband offering
* Freeserve is completely rebranding to Wanadoo and strengthening Wanadoos position in a 4th major European market.
* As part of the France Telecom Group, Wanadoo in the UK now represents the strategic leader of Broadband services in the UK market.
* Launch of 512k Broadband at £17.99 a month.
Freeserve rebrands as Wanadoo (28th April): this is a major milestone for Wanadoo, which continues to lead the UK Internet market with 2.6 million customers. Wanadoo is already Europes 2nd biggest ISP, leading the market in France and the UK, and No 2 in Spain and The Netherlands. Wanadoo currently has more than 9.1 million Internet Access customers, including over 2.45 million Broadband customers.
Building on Wanadoos strength in Broadband across Europe, Wanadoo immediately introduces a highly competitive Broadband product range in the UK, including a new £17.99 per-month full speed Broadband product, and a new £34.99 per-month 1 megabit (Mb) Broadband product - both with free modem and connection. The new Broadband offering, which Wanadoo believes will spur Broadband penetration in the UK underlines France Telecoms target (via Wanadoo) to be a leader in Broadband in Europe.

As well as introducing a new Broadband product range, the UKs biggest ISP is unveiling a range of service enhancements on its new-look portal, http://www.wanadoo.co.uk, including free McAfee® Security software for all its Narrowband and Broadband customers, plus free email virus and spam filters.
On top of that the 15GB limit, 512 Kbps package will cost £27.99, while the heavy 1Mbps package with a 30GB limit is £34.99 per month.
Be advised that ISP Review will be re-naming Freeserve to Wanadoo in all related/dynamic sections, thus its position in alphanumeric ordering will change and may not be listed on the same page(s) as before.
