BT is preparing to introduce a free spam (junk e-mail) filtering and anti-virus protection service for its business (@btconnect.com) customers:
BT HELPS BUSINESSES FIGHT SPAM AND EMAIL VIRUSES
BT Business customers who pick up emails from or via an @btconnect.com account now receive free spam filtering and anti virus protection.
The new Email Protection service, which will be enabled for all business customers on both narrowband and broadband services by the end of July, will scan incoming mail to determine if it is spam and if any attachments are infected.
Emails thought to be spam will have a tag added to the subject header to alert users that it could be spam when it arrives in their inbox. The antivirus software checks and disinfects incoming mail and attachments so that they cannot infect users machines.
Customers will be contacted with further details about the upgraded Business service, and more information is available from www.btbroadbandoffice.com/help.
Yahoo! UK & Ireland today also launched information on its three pronged attack for consumers to help fight spam through technology, education and legislation. You can read more about it here: http://www.yahoo.co.uk/antispamday
