The governments Office of National Statistics (ONS) has released its latest monthly Internet access report (HERE), which covers the period ending March 2004. Typically broadband connections have almost doubled.

Between March 2004 and the same period last year, dialup connections dropped by 5.6% (1.1% between February and March 2004). However, broadband connections grew by 97.7% for the same 12 month period (6.7% between February and March 2004).

Dialup continues to dominate overall subscriptions with 74.3%, yet broadband has closed the gap somewhat, claiming 25.7% of the entire UK market for Internet access.
