Telewest has today released its first quarter financial results, which show that the cable operator now has a whopping 498,000 broadband subscribers (as of 12th May 2004):
* We're fast approaching half a million blueyonder broadband customers (498,000 installed as of 12 May 2004)
* Over 50,000 new broadband customers joined us in the first three months of this year
* We now have more than 710,000 blueyonder internet customers in total
* Our recently announced roll-out of faster broadband speeds was completed yesterday - well ahead of schedule
Chad Raube, director of internet services, commented: "We're still number one for broadband within our franchise areas and we're delighted to be providing high-speed services to nearly 500,000 customers.
"The half million milestone is about to be achieved by combining quality, value and innovative product development, typified by the increases in speed we have now rolled out to blueyonder customers across the country. We announced at the end of April that we'd be boosting the bandwidth of our services, for the same price, and I'm pleased to say we've now completed the upgrades in double quick time.
"The bandwidth boost and a new 256Kb entry-level service have gone down a storm with new and existing customers and an action-packed year for broadband is sure to continue."
The new blueyonder broadband service tiers now on offer are as follows:
blueyonder broadband 256Kb, from £17.99 per month
blueyonder broadband 750Kb, from £25 per month
blueyonder broadband 1.5Mb, from £35 per month
blueyonder broadband 3Mb, from £50 a month
All services are available with free installation, including cable modem, and there are no usage caps.
