Libera has introduced the UK's fastest fixed broadband wireless network to date, running at up to and over 30Mbps on the 28GHz band for the Greater London area:
The first base station, located in Docklands, will go live in July this year and the rest of the Greater London network should be operational by early summer 2005. The company is also planning a national rollout that will eventually be able to reach about 75 percent of UK businesses.
Libera will offer business customers broadband capacity of between 1Mbps and 36Mbps. Customers will be able to choose the level of broadband capacity which they want. "If they need more bandwidth we can turn it up, if they need less we can turn it down," said Paul Momtahan, marketing director at Libera.Sadly there's no details on pricing, although Libera is targeting a similar level to that of SDSL, which would make it quite expensive.
