UK think-tank '
The Work Foundation' has found what most would consider to be an unsurprising conclusion. Potential 3G broadband wireless mobile phone service customers are very concerned about the cost:
"There is a myth that talk is cheap. In fact, for most people, talk remains an expensive worry that needs to be kept under control," said analyst Max Nathan, analyst and co-author of the report.
"Our research suggests that the mobile industry must remember how important cost is to most people who buy and use mobile phones.
The industry is aware of this but it doesn't change the fact that, until 3G becomes better value, most consumers will find it an expensive worry too far."Many customers appear to think that existing services are still too expensive, which certainly spells trouble for both 3G and GPRS.
Other issues, such as the growing complexity of phone menu systems (usability), also require work. More @
