THUS Launches Corporate Dial Up

Posted: 09th Apr, 2003 By: MarkJ
THUS Telecom, the operator behind UK ISP Demon Internet, has today announced the launch of its new corporate dialup service:

THUS SAVES BUSINESS UP TO 30 PER CENT ON REMOTE WORKER INTERNET COSTS

THUS plc, one of the UK's leading providers of voice, data, Internet and contact centre services, today launched Corporate Dial Up, an innovative dial-up service that enables organisations to manage their dial-up accounts through an easy to use web interface, equivalent to having their own virtual ISP.

THUS estimates that UK organisations could save up to 30% of their dial-up costs if they adopt THUS Corporate Dial Up. The new service is ideal for businesses which have employees based in remote locations, working from home or on the road who need easy dial-up access to the Internet or the corporate network.

Today, due to the complexity of setting up remote workers with corporate LAN and Internet access, many companies allow users to make individual arrangements with their ISPs. This can be a major headache for businesses, because these accounts are often impossible to monitor and are typically more expensive for organisations than a standardised solution from one trusted supplier.

Using THUS's Corporate Dial Up solution, companies appoint up to three in-house system administrators who have the power to control exactly how Corporate Dial Up accounts are allocated. Administrators can allocate how many users will share dial-up account ports, whether they are given a free-to-call or local call rate number to dial in, and amend or update passwords.

Corporate Dial Up also makes it possible for companies to monitor the usage of dial-up accounts, enabling them to tailor the service level to individual requirements and clamp down on specific cases of abuse where employees use free dial-up services for non-work use.

Corporate Dial Up customers are charged an initial flat-rate installation charge, which covers the provision of a web interface and the telephone numbers and lines required. Customers are charged a monthly fee for each port, plus the cost of calls in the case of local rate 0845 numbers.

Corporate Dial Up also includes a high level of reporting, which enables administrators to monitor account usage and budget more accurately. Administrators can select the format and frequency of reports to best suit their business processes. Corporate Dial Up customers will benefit from full 24 x 7 telephone support from THUS's team of experts.
