Oftel Urges BT Unmetered Dialup Cut

The UK telecoms regulator, Oftel, has urged BT to cut its wholesale unmetered (FRIACO) Internet access charges by 17% because it was charging operators for unnecessary measures.
Few details are available, although if implemented BT would have to backdate the refund to December 2001! This is very interesting news and worth keeping an eye on.
Such a cut could easily mean lower unmetered dialup prices, 17% is no small reduction.
