Fast24 Apologises For Service Outage

UK ISP Fast24 has today issued an update and apology for the weekends service troubles:
Please accept our severe apologies for the past days events. Unfortunately there were a string of events that led to a prolonged period of downtime, but largely these were focused around:
1. A core router failure
2. A core SQL server failure
The detailed explanation is a little too big to recreate here.
