Zipcom, which supplies a number of specialised UK ISP services, has changed its name to GX Networks:
Zipcom Plc changes name to GX Networks Plc
Zipcom Plc has announced today that, with immediate effect, the company name is changed to GX Networks Plc. This change was approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders, held on 3rd March 2003. The company will now trade as GX Networks UK Limited.
In October 2002, Zipcom acquired Transigent, the holding company for GX Networks (formerly the UK operation of XO). Positioning itself at the forefront of integrated communications solutions, the resulting company emerges as a major player in the UK's business-to-business telecommunications market. Equipped with a London based data centre, GX Networks UK Limited offers a complete voice and data connectivity service for business, over its independently owned and managed national network.
Mike Read, former President and Managing Director of GX Networks becomes Managing Director of the combined company and Grahame Purvis continues in his role as CEO and Chairman.
