The UKs first public 3G (UTMS) broadband wireless mobile phone operator, Three (Hutchison3G), has today confirmed that UK handsets will arrive on-time this Saturday:
Also, while the unsubsidised cost of a handset is a substantial E600, more than 70,000 customers have committed to buying a phone which is a good way towards the 200,000 potential customers who have expressed an interest in the companys service.
700,000 Motorola and NEC 3G-enabled handsets will be delivered to operators by the end of May.Hutchison hopes to have a combined (UK & Italy) subscriber base of 2 million by the end of 2003. More @
