The latest survey from market analysts Datamonitor has predicted that 41 Million European Internet users will connect with a broadband connection by 2006.
At the end of last year (2002) some 10 Million Europeans had broadband access:
The study also predicts that in three years time, Germany will still lead the market but the UK will overtake France to become Europe's second largest broadband-connected country.
According to Datamonitor, the number of UK net users interested in broadband has increased over the past 12 months because of price reductions by ISPs.The research also predicts that the cost of subscribing to broadband services must drop to roughly £16 per month, otherwise the predicted growth may not be possible.
