ISP AOL UK has blocked Oxford University e-mails from being sent or received by customers of the service:
A university spokesman said: "We believe that about three or four weeks ago there was a 'spamming incident' when an email -- coming from a bogus @ox.ac.uk account -- was sent to a large number of fictitious AOL e-mail addresses.
We are continuing to press AOL for a resolution to problem, and are keeping ox.ac.uk holders updated with information alerts on the university web page."
It wasn't all that long ago that AOL was involved in a similar incident involving MSN/Hotmail. More @ The Oxford Mail newspaper.
