BT Offers 'No Frills' Broadband Discount

Posted: 19th Mar, 2003 By: MarkJ
BT has used the remaining few days of the BTWholesale ADSL discount to highlight its own cost-saving offer on the groups 'No Frills' broadband product:

SPECIAL SPRING SAVINGS WITH BT BROADBAND PARTNERS

BT Broadband has teamed up with seven of its premier partners - Alta Vista, eBay, Lycos, Mastercard, MSN, MSN8 and Yahoo, to offer broadband bargain hunters a substantially reduced deal worth over £100.

The deal, which is running until 31st March across seven BT Broadband partners' sites saves customers a total of £115 on standard pricing. They are entitled to free* connection to BT Broadband (worth £60) and the broadband modem and micro-filters will cost just £25 (normal price of £80).

Customers who purchase BT Broadband from the following partner microsites can take advantage of this offer:

* Alta Vista: http://uk.altavista.com/web/mm/iav?ad=iavVSS
* eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/btbroadbandhome1

Emma Sanderson, head of broadband, BT Consumer, said: "This offer is a really exciting development for the BT Broadband partnership scheme. It means these partners can now give their customers best value for money and get them started on BT Broadband as soon as possible, and so helping BT deliver its promise of 1million broadband customers by summer 2003."

BT has over 80 BT Broadband partners, covering a wide range of consumer interests, from the basics of email, search engines & parental controls, to great broadband music, games & video content. BT is working with the partners to demonstrate to BT Broadband customers just how much they can get from their new broadband connection.

BT Broadband provides "always-on", high-speed direct access to the Internet over a home phone line, enabling users to download more content faster. It is a mass-market consumer broadband product, designed for customers downloading up to 1 gigabyte of data a day. For example, this allows customers to download, approximately 200 music tracks, 650 short videos, 10,000 pictures or around 100 large software programmes every day.
